I have been an entrepreneur since founding my first company at the age of 26 in 2008, but I was not "born" an entrepreneur, I didn't even know what it meant, but I always liked the thought of being in control of my own destiny and building something that was mine. This has led me down the path to who I am today.
In 2008 at the age of 26, I set up my first company, 4Ps Marketing Ltd, with the hopes and dreams of being regarded as one of the best digital agencies in the world. My business partner and I threw our life and soul into building a company we could feel proud of, where we empowered people to bring their best selves to work who could produce world-class results for global brands. I am proud to say we achieved this and more, working with household names such as Selfridges, Vivienne Westwood, Gymshark, The White Company, Hertz, Nissan and Audi to name a few.
After an incredible 8 years of growth, we were acquired by a French PLC, now trading as Artefact SA in 2016 in a multi-million-pound deal. After starting from humble beginnings in a 2 man office with no windows, we scaled to 150 people in the UK before helping drive the global business from 600 to 1,000 employees from 2016 to 2018. In June 2018 it was time to say goodbye and close this chapter after completing a 10-year journey.
The rapid growth of our agency presented a challenge in staying connected with our people and customers. Keenly aware of the fantastic culture we had cultivated, we sought a solution and landed on a simple yet powerful idea: regularly asking our employees and customers about their happiness. The feedback we received was transformative, providing actionable insights that fuelled our agency's most successful growth years.
This revelation led to the creation of The Happiness Index, a happiness and engagement SaaS platform built on a foundation of neuroscience. Over the next decade, the company achieved extraordinary success, hitting a peak of one million responses per month in 2024. Now valued in the eight-figure millions, The Happiness Index continues its upward trajectory, with me as a joint-largest shareholder, even as I've transitioned from day-to-day involvement.
Whether we work together or not, I am always delighted to meet like-minded individual's who are trying to create their own path, so get in touch to arrange a virtual coffee.
